Best Practices for Canceling Your Plumbing Service Call
We love our customers and are thankful for the relationships we’ve built with our customers over the years. Most of the time we don’t have to worry about being stood up for plumbing service calls, but it happens every now and then. Sometimes our plumbers arrive at a home, ring the door bell, and nothing happens. No one is home. We get it. Emergencies happen, or people forget. In some cases, it’s quite possible that the homeowner didn’t know how to cancel the appointment. Whatever the reason, we thought we’d put together a fun little post about how to cancel your plumbing service call.
Call to Reschedule
We say this because many times people have to cancel an important plumbing service because something’s pulling them away from the home. That doesn’t mean the plumbing issue has resolved itself. You still have the clogged toilet, need water heater repair, or have a leaky pipe. If you have the ability, try to reschedule with us to get that plumbing problem fixed as quickly as possible.
Call in a Neighborly Favor
Is your schedule packed that you don’t think you’ll be able to reschedule your appointment for several weeks? Often, plumbing problems get worse because they’re allowed to continue for way too long. If you already have a plumbing emergency like a leaky pipe, putting off repairs even a few more days could add more money to the overall cost of repair. So, if you have a neighbor who’s free, ask if they’re available to hang out at your house to meet the plumber. Give us a call and let us know the neighbor’s name and number so we can call them when we’re on the way.
Don’t Wait to Reschedule
Just like your schedule, our schedules fill up days or weeks in advance. If you aren’t home when we show up for a service call, it’s likely you won’t have another opportunity for repairs from us for several days or more. As soon as know you need to reschedule, call us right away to get another appointment on the books at a time that works better for you.
Try Not to Cancel at the Last Minute
We understand that emergencies happen. Kids get sick and need to be picked up from school. You need to Skype a client an hour earlier than you intended. We get it. We do. But, when it’s not an emergency, please do your plumber the courtesy of calling well in advance to let them know you have to cancel. Cancelling 30 minutes before your appointment isn’t far enough in advance because your plumber is already on the way. By cancelling ASAP, it helps us help more people.
Explain the Reasons for Cancelling
We don’t need a three-page written letter explaining why you don’t need us. Instead, briefly tells us honestly why you’re cancelling. Is it that you found a better price? Did we not offer fast enough service? This information helps us improve our services and meet the needs of more customers. Your honesty is always appreciated.
At Wise Choice Plumbing & Rooter, our goal is to provide transparency and courtesy to all our customers. Therefore, count on us to extend the same courtesy to you should we need to push back an appointment or reschedule for a different time. Most of the time that we need to make these calls is because our plumbers have gotten held up at a job that’s taking longer than initially expected. Regardless of the reason, we promise to treat you fairly and honestly.
If you need plumbing services in Anaheim or another service area, give us a call to get a plumber out to you ASAP.
